Row & Repeat is a row counter for knitting and crochet. If a count looks wrong or something doesn't work, write to us.
Email shchukavlad4@gmail.com. We usually reply within two business days. It helps to tell us your iPhone model, your Apple Watch model (if any) and what you tapped last.
Will I lose my rows?
We built the app so a count is hard to lose. Every tap is saved on your iPhone the moment you make it, and every change is kept as a small entry in a log, not just as a number. If two devices count at once, the entries are merged and nothing is counted twice. If a number ever looks off, tap Undo, or -1, and check the project again. If it happens more than once, email us.
How does syncing between iPhone and Apple Watch work?
The two talk to each other directly using Apple's WatchConnectivity. There is no account and no server. Counts made on the watch show up on the phone, and the other way round. It works best when the phone is nearby with Bluetooth on. If the watch is out of range, it keeps its own copy and catches up when they meet again. Open the app on both devices if a change is slow to appear.
Double tap on my watch does nothing
- Double tap needs an Apple Watch Series 9 or later, or an Ultra 2 or later, running watchOS 11 or newer.
- Turn it on in the Watch app on your iPhone, then Gestures, then Double Tap.
- Open Row & Repeat on the watch. The gesture works for the app that is on screen.
- Older watches can count with the Digital Crown and the big button on the screen.
Voice mode doesn't hear me, or hears too much
- Voice mode works while the app is open on your iPhone. You turn it on yourself, and it switches off after 30 minutes without a command or when you leave the app.
- Allow Microphone and Speech Recognition for Row & Repeat in iPhone Settings.
- Commands are "next", "back" and "undo". Speak clearly and leave a short pause between them.
- Recognition happens on your iPhone, and it needs the English speech files iOS downloads the first time. It may say it is preparing for a moment.
- Music, a TV or a chat can be mistaken for a command. If that happens, turn voice mode off and use the lock screen or the watch, or tap Undo.
- Audio is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
The lock screen buttons are missing
Live Activities need to be allowed for the app. Open iPhone Settings, then Row & Repeat, and turn on Live Activities. Also check that Counter on Lock Screen is on in the app's Settings. The Live Activity starts when you open a project, so open one and then lock the phone. iOS ends a Live Activity after a while, so it may need a fresh start: open the project again.
How do I use my Action Button or Siri?
Open the Shortcuts app and find Row & Repeat. The actions are "Next row", "Undo row" and "Current row". On iPhones with an Action Button, choose Shortcut in the Action Button settings and pick "Next row". These need Pro.
How do I add a PDF pattern?
Import it from Files or Photos, or send it to Row & Repeat from the share sheet of another app. The ruler marks your current row and moves down with every +1. This needs Pro.
What is free, and what is in Pro?
Free gives you 1 active project, the main counter plus 1 extra counter, 1 repeat rule, the Live Activity and widgets. Pro is a one-time purchase for unlimited projects, counters and rules, PDF patterns with the ruler, the Apple Watch app, voice mode, Siri and Action Button shortcuts, and themes. It isn't a subscription.
How do I restore Pro on a new device?
In the app, open Settings (the gear on the Projects screen) and tap Restore Purchases. You will also find it on the Pro screen. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.
Can my family use Pro?
Yes. Pro supports Family Sharing. If the purchaser has it turned on, family members get Pro on their own devices at no extra cost. If it doesn't appear, tap Restore Purchases.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds, so we can't refund a purchase ourselves. You can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
