When should I see a doctor?
Get care the same day if your hearing drops suddenly. See a doctor if you hear a pulsing sound in time with your heartbeat, ringing in only one ear, dizziness, ear pain or discharge, ringing after a head injury, or if the sound is wearing you down. Softer Ring can't tell you what causes your tinnitus.
How do I get a good pitch match?
- Use headphones in a quiet room. With AirPods, turn off Noise Cancellation and Adaptive Audio first.
- Keep the volume a little lower than your ringing. Louder doesn't make matching easier.
- Answer with your first impression. If two tones sound the same, tap "That's close".
- Match again on another day and compare. Tinnitus often shifts a little.
Why can't I use Apple Music or Spotify songs?
Songs from Apple Music and streaming services are protected (DRM), and iOS doesn't let other apps process them. You can import audio files you own, such as MP3, M4A or WAV files from the Files app or AirDrop.
Will the sound keep playing at night?
Yes. It plays with the screen locked. Set the sleep timer from the bar at the bottom of the screen: the sound fades out over the last 45 seconds. After a phone call it comes back by itself if the timer hasn't ended.
How loud can it get?
Every sound goes through a fixed digital volume cap. The app also warns you when your iPhone volume is above 75%. Keep your sound quieter than your ringing.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Softer Ring Plus. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Lifetime is a one-time purchase and doesn't renew.
How do I restore Plus on a new device?
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases, using the same Apple Account you bought with.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds. You can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
